As a wedding photographer, I have had the privilege of capturing countless love stories, each unique in their own way. However, there are some couples that make you feel warm and fuzzy inside in a way that stays with you forever.
This intimate destination wedding in Sedona, Arizona, for Hans and Lupita was one of those. Firstly, one of the things struck me about this wedding was the venue choice. Their wedding ceremony and reception was held at the Los Abrigados Resort & Spa—a spanish inspired oasis. Nestled in the heart of Downtown Sedona with views of the iconic red rocks of Sedona, the location exuded an otherworldly charm. The couple’s choice was nothing short of magical. I truly COULD NOT wait to document everything that unfolded on their big day.
The morning of the wedding was filled with anticipation and excitement. I had the pleasure of documenting the behind-the-scenes moments, from the bride’s delicate Grace Loves Lace dress to the groom’s heartfelt reflections. The love and support from their families and friends added so much warmth to these intimate moments leading up to their ceremony.
Despite a little bit of rain prior to the ceremony, the entire affair turned out to be breathtaking. Hans and Lupita exchanged their vows against the backdrop of creek surrounded by the natural contrasting greenery and red rocks everyone who has been to Sedona knows and loves. During the ceremony, Hans and Lupita’s reactions to seeing each other my absolute favorite moment of the day. As soon as they laid eyes on each other, both of them instantly shed tears of pure happiness. It truly was a testament to the beauty of nature and the love they share.

After their ceremony, we drove just a couple miles from their venue to Huckaby Trail and stumbled upon so many awe-inspiring canvases for their love story. When I say this lighting was perfect, I mean it. The sun peaked out from the clouds just in time to illuminate the red rocks as we explored.
Afterwards, we headed back to their loved ones, who immediately cheered them on as they entered into the reception. It was a heartwarming night filled with toasts, heartfelt speeches, and dancing. Undoubtedly, their choice in music was superb—none of that cha-cha slide bullsh*t. It also didn’t hurt that their DJ was the best DJ I’ve ever had the oppurtunity to work with. Shout out to Brian! The couple’s genuine connection and the love they shared resonated throughout the evening, making it an honor to photograph.
